Necro Facility

Congratulations to your great new album “The Room”!

O: thnx very much! H: Thanx dude

How is the feeling like when all the work is done and you get your hands on the final product?

O: It feels great to see that all youre hard work and all the hours u have spent on doing this came out to be something really really good. Of course it is all made out of fun but the time u lay down on something that fun is even greater to see lateron when u have a finsihed album. This feels lika a qounqer becouse both Henrik and i has been living in different citys the last year and have had a very hard time getting together and recording this album, and it is great that we, even under those circumstances did such a good work. H: It feels absolutely fantastic. It's always nice to see the finished product of all the hours of hard work that you've put into the album. It's nice to get a closure on this album. It's been totally awesome and very fun to make it but it always comes a time when every artist want's to close a chapter (a record) and then move on with new fresh ideas and songs.

“The Black Paintings” was highly recommended by the press. Did this put pressure on your work for “The Room”?

O: No, not at all, we just do this for fun. We wanted to do new things on the album and so we did, of course we dont sit around and say " hey lets do a song liek this", we just sit down have a beer and starta to play with sounds. This is all made out of joy, even if u cant imagen that when u listen to the record. The most pressure i think has been on the record label, to not let go of the high promotion he worked with on TBP, and now trying to do it better. But I dont doubt his skills for a second and im just worried that he will work his ass of to much. The music for uss isnt a competition, this is just the friendship between Henrik and I, and in a wierd way it sounds like this. H: No, I don't think that either oscar or me fealt anny pressure by the reviews of TBP. We do this for fun and mostly for ourselves. NF is something that we've had in common for very long and it's mostly more friendship than music. We actually produce the music because we just love to hang out together and do some music.

Your new album is voted “album of the month” at the German magazine Sonic-Seducer, winning their sound check section over acts such as Leaether Strip and VNV Nation. Congratulations! Did you ever expect something like this?

O: That is really cool, no not really. We dont have the ambition to beat those guys becouse they are really really huge, we think its cool that people takes their time and listen to new music to, We like audience with attitude and this proves it more then anything else. H: That's totally awesome that we managed to snagg that part. But we don't have any ambitions be at the top or beat these guys. They're really huge and really great, and it's never been a competition to us. But it's awlays nice to get some creds and appreciation for the effort you put into a record.

Your debut album was compared with acts like Skinny Puppy and Frontline Assembly. Very dark with a great atmosphere. How would you describe your new CD “The Room” and where do you see the differences to your first album?

O: Yes, i think we will be compared to skinny puppy always, but I think that the audience on second album realize that we dont give a fuck if it sounds like SP. We do this becouse we like this kind of music not becouse we want to be someone else. H: It will probably still be compared to acts such as SP or FLA. Although I think youre a bit oneway minded if that's all you hear in the trax from The Room. There's really alot more influences from other kinds of music in the trax from The Room.

What does “The Room” stand for? Is there a kind of concept?

O: The album and the name The Room just came out of our minds when we first heard the three first song we made, we tought it sounded very claustrophobic any much more rythmic then TBP. We think that The Room is the perfekt name for the album, and we have de-selected many tracks becouse they didnt fit in wihtin the concept of the claustrophobic feeling, these are tunes you might be hearing later on with necro facility but for this record I think it speek for it selves. H: If you listen to the songs on the album and then think about the name The Room I think it pretty much speeks for itself. The name of the album and the lyrics are open for full interpretation. Although I have a pretty clear idea of what it all represents and means to me it doesn't necesarily have to be the same for the listener(s). And to me The Room doesn't stand for an actual, physical room. I'ts more of a metaphor and a symbolic name for the vessel that contains your inner self, your mind, spirit or soul if you like. it's everything that I am, and it's everything that you are.

Necro Facility already performed live in Sweden and will play a gig in Finland. How was the reaction of the fans like and what can people expect from your gigs?

O: Yeah we have performed in germany too on WGT, actually on the biggest stage but unfortunaly in the middle of the concert the electricty died on uss, and we had to improvise something up, But Henrik is a very good acter and has very much karisma on stage so he nailed the concert very well. But we really like to come back to germany, they give uss always a warm welcome. and they have cheap beer. We dont have thogught of so much sceneshows and stuff, we really give the audience a kick-ass gig with the energy of a hardcore gig and the fresh sound of this indsutrial electronica. H: We've performed a couple of times in Germany, in hungary and we've done some shows here in sweden. unfortunatly we haven't designed any stage shows or stuff like that. We like the minimal in a performance as much as we like some really heavy stage shows and up untill now we've just delievered a minimal stage show with a hell of alot of kick as energy.

Do you think of coming over to Germany and play some shows?

O: Of course, we love to come down and drink some beers and play some songs down in germany, just call us. H: Yeah, germany is a great country. Really nice people and very cheap beer compared to the prizes here in sweden. So just give us a call and we'll be right there.

Where do you see the difference between the German and the Swedish scene?

O: Yes, the german people are not afraid to listen to new music, and explore and of course party like hell. In sweden the alternative people are more into style and not so much music. They dont want to see live acts, they just want to dance to the hits of the eightys or crappy futurepop. In germany they really appreciate a good concert with energy and thats the audience that is ment to be for Necro Facitlity. H: Well, german people seems to be a bit more open minded when it comes to new music. And the people seems to appreciate the energy that we try to deliever and at the concerts we've done in germany the crowd often dance and screams and sing along in the trax, and that's totally awesome. We like it when the audience just let's go of everything at let's the music guide them.

I think you could become a “Bigplayer” in the scene! That’s my personal opinion. What do you want to reach personally with Necro Facility? What are your goals for the future?

O: That is very very kind words of u, but we dont aim very high. We have the oppurtunity to realease records and we are very blessed for that but we dont aim to be something big and earn money on this. Necro Facility has alwas been an excuse for drinking beer and to be rockn roll, and thats the way its going to stay. H: Thanx alot man, very kindly of you. We've never aimed for the sky with this band. We simply just wanna create the kind of music that we love and have a laugh or two on the way. The intention with NF isn't to be huge within the scene and make alot of money, we just wanna party, meat interesting people and have as much fun as possible on the way, and isn't that what life is all about?

Thank you for the interesting interview and good luck with your great album “The Room”! The famous last words are up to you:
